Family Mediation

Most separating couples can reach their own decisions about their children and future financial arrangements if they have the right help at the right time


How much will it cost you?

If you qualify for legal aid, mediation will be totally free.

 The Legal Aid Agency will also pay some of the costs of the other person.

If you do not qualify for legal aid, here is a guide to our fees, which will depend on the circumstances. Your mediator will discuss this with you during your first telephone consultation.

Information Meeting (MIAM)
from
£70 + VAT*

This initial confidential meeting – just between you and the mediator – is free if you qualify for legal aid. If you do not qualify for legal aid, we charge from £70 + vat * and £20* plus vat if you require your mediator to complete their part of your court application form.
*This fee is dependent on your circumstances. Your mediator will discuss this with you during your first telephone consultation.


Children Mediations
from
£80 phr + VAT*

per person

A typical session lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes and you may need between 1 to 3 sessions. If you qualify for legal aid this will be completely free for you. If you do not qualify for legal aid our fees are from £120 plus vat per person, per session We charge £80+ phr plus vat per person for preparing parenting plans and paperwork.
*These fees are dependent on your circumstances and the mediator will explain this to you.


Finance Mediations
from
£80 phr + VAT*

per person

A typical session lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes and you may need between 1 to 3 sessions. If you qualify for legal aid this will be completely free for you. If you do not qualify for legal aid our fees are from £120 plus vat per person, per session We charge from £80 phr plus vat per person for preparing financial schedules and financial agreements.
*These fees are dependent on your circumstances and the mediator will explain this to you.


Children + Finances
from
£80 phr + VAT*

per person

A typical session lasts about 2 hours and you may need between 2 to 4 sessions. If you qualify for legal aid this will be completely free for you. If you do not qualify for legal aid our fees are from £140 plus vat per person, per session. We charge from £80 phr plus vat per person for preparing parenting plans, financial schedules and financial agreements.

Online
Divorce Mediation
£80 phr + VAT*

per person

We offer online MIAMs and Mediations via Skype please get in touch to arrange this.

Mediation is less expensive and stressful than court proceedings.

Legal costs including court hearing for a children dispute: £3,000 – £8,000.
Legal costs including court hearing for a finance dispute: £10,000 – £20,000.
